Terms and Conditions of Service
By submitting equipment for service at Sound Technology Inc., you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms govern the repair process, warranty, liability, and payment for services rendered.
1. Authorization for Service
You hereby authorize Sound Technology Inc. to perform diagnostic and repair work on the equipment submitted. You acknowledge that Sound Technology Inc. is not responsible for any data loss associated with the equipment.
2. Diagnostics & Estimates
- Diagnostic Fee: A non-refundable diagnostic fee applies to all equipment, which is due at drop-off. If the repair is approved, this fee is typically applied toward the final labor cost.
- Estimates: We will provide an estimate for repairs. If additional problems are discovered during the repair process that increase the cost, we will contact you for approval before proceeding.
- Refusal of Service: If you choose not to proceed with the repair after the estimate is provided, the diagnostic fee is retained as payment for the time spent evaluating the unit.
3. Payment Terms
Payment in full is due upon completion of the repair and before the equipment is released. We accept major credit cards, cash, and authorized checks. Special order parts may require a deposit.
4. Warranty Policy
Sound Technology Inc. provides a limited warranty on repairs performed:
- Scope: The warranty covers only the specific parts replaced and the labor performed for the original symptom. It does not cover new or unrelated issues that may arise.
- Duration: Repairs are warranted for a period of 90 days from the date of pickup, unless otherwise stated on your invoice.
- Exclusions: Warranty is void if the equipment has been tampered with, misused, physically damaged, or subjected to liquid damage after our service. Tubes, fuses, and software are generally excluded from warranty.
5. Limitation of Liability
While we take great care with your equipment, Sound Technology Inc. is not responsible for:
- Damage resulting from pre-existing conditions (e.g., brittle circuitry in vintage gear).
- Loss of cosmetic condition due to necessary disassembly (though we strive to maintain it).
- Incidental or consequential damages resulting from equipment failure or repair delays.
6. Unclaimed Equipment
Due to limited storage space, equipment must be picked up promptly upon notification of completion or refusal of estimate.
- Storage Fees: Equipment not picked up within 30 days of notification may be subject to storage fees.
- Abandonment: Equipment left for more than 90 days without communication or payment will be considered abandoned and may be sold or disposed of to recover service costs, in accordance with applicable laws.
7. Changes to Terms
Sound Technology Inc. reserves the right to update these terms at any time. The terms in effect at the time of your service intake will apply.
