Please make an informed decision of any service company you choose.
1-The service company should be an authorized warranty service center for at least a few name brand companies. This usually requires the company to be a legitimate electronic service department with current training and all the support needed to qualify them to service your product.
2- A company that is a “Brick and Mortar” company is another good choice. Working out of the trunk of a car or in a garage usually is a red flag that the company or Servicer is a “Estimate Shop” That is a shop that has no intensions of fixing your electronics. They just collect a fee to come to your home and fiddle with the set only to take your money and never return or high ball the estimate to a point that you will not approve the repair.
3- Check with the Better Business Bureau before someone comes to your home; not after the fact that you have a complaint. There are companies with multiple bad reports on file. The BBB is not an enforcement agency and only keeps records. There are many shops that just don’t care because people do not report anything until they are cheated and that is too late. These people also change their business name to avoid the complaints. Use a company that has a good long history.
